The 7-8 Indianapolis Colts travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to play against the 2-13 New York Giants at MetLife Stadium for Week 17 of the regular season. Indianapolis could be eliminated from playoff contention before they play on Sunday. If the Los Angeles Chargers defeat the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday, the Colts would be eliminated from playoff contention since both teams would secure the last two spots in the AFC.
The Indianapolis Colts starting QB is dealing with two separate injuries
Quarterback Anthony Richardson popped up on this week’s injury report with a foot and back injury. Richardson did not participate in Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s practice. As a result, the Colts listed him as questionable in the week’s final injury report. During Friday’s press conference, head coach Shane Steichen told the media that the next 48 hours will determine his availability for Week 17.
“We’ll have those conversations here in the next 48 hours,” Steichen said, adding, “He was just sore all week, really sore, so we’re just being smart there.”
Colts offensive starter receives a brutal injury update for Week 18
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Colts have downgraded Anthony Richardson from questionable to out for Week 17 against the New York Giants. This will be the third game the young quarterback has missed this season due to injury. Joe Flacco, the ageless wonder, will start the fifth game this season.
