The Indiana Hoosiers have a massive crowd full of fans, students, and recruits out ahead of the Maryland Terrapins home game.
The Hoosiers are 4-0 this season and have displayed quite the high-powered offense through four games with the worst performance still resulting in 31-points. Indiana has a tough conference schedule ahead, with Nebraska, Michigan, and Ohio State. The offense will be truly tested as the conference play continues to heat up for the Hoosiers.
With the Terrapins, an arguably tough conference opponent, coming to town the Indiana Hoosiers staff has brought out plenty of recruits and current commitments to the game. Among them is Kyler Garcia, a three-star defensive line commitment for the team who chose the Hoosiers over Wisconsin and Louisville.
This crowd up at IU looking amazing 😮💨😮💨

Indiana Hoosiers fans and recruits alike packed the stands for one of the biggest early season games on the schedule, even with somewhat bad weather.

All things considered, really solid crowd for Indiana today. #iufb pic.twitter.com/5RD7gT5R1e

The crowd, by the way, has definitely filled in. Nice turnout by the students, as the student section is pretty much full. #iufb pic.twitter.com/tbPp85vY02

However, a number of students began to leave the game around halftime, with probable intentions of continuing the tailgate.
You may be missing my point. There was a decent crowd there to start the game. But then everyone leaves early. I don’t understand why people come to a game and leave well before it’s over. Winning or losing people need to stay and show them care about the team.

Indiana Hoosiers Beginning to Develop Strong Football Culture
While Indiana has struggled in the past to fill the stadium, more fans appear to be coming out to games now.
For some schools attendance is something that varies, but have a rather full stadium for kickoff in the rain is a solid accomplishment. While some Hoosiers fans want the fans to stay during the whole games, the crowds have been enough to impress incoming athletes. Building crowds is something that can take time for programs, but with the current season trajectory it should not be an issue for the Hoosiers.
Indiana has both a talented roster and a talented staff currently, and with an influx of players coming in in the 2025 class, the Hoosiers should be good for years to come.
Indiana has 21 hard commitments in the 2025 recruiting class headlined by four-star safety Byron Baldwin. While the class ranks as the 48th currently, the rankings should rise after the commitments finish the final high school season.
