Samantha shared her emotional pregnancy news on social media, opening up about the physical and emotional toll of IVF treatments. The couple is happy because they made the impossible possible with the help of science.

Pat McAfee’s Wife Opens Up About IVF Battle While Announcing Baby Boy

Samantha McAfee dropped the news on Instagram, pulling back the curtain on what she called a demanding and emotionally draining fertility journey. The former Indianapolis Colts punter and his wife are expecting their second child in the mid of next year.

Getting to this point wasn’t a simple handoff. Samantha went through multiple rounds of IVF treatments before finding the end zone.

“The path that led us here was filled with needles, hormones, countless appointments, and more emotion than we ever knew two hearts could hold,” Samantha wrote. “IVF pushed my body to its limits and stretched our spirits in ways we never expected.”

“We are overjoyed to share that we are expecting a baby boy, arriving in June 2026. To every woman and couple still in the thick of this journey: you are not alone. I hope our news doesn’t cause you pain, but instead offers a spark of hope,” she added.

Pat has supported Samantha through the entire process. The ESPN analyst retired from the NFL in 2017 to focus on media, married Samantha in 2020, and the couple welcomed their first daughter, Mackenzie Lynn, in 2023.

Samantha didn’t just post to share their good news. She also recognized the couples still facing fertility struggles and said she hopes their announcement brings encouragement, not added hurt to the fanbase.

Social Media Erupts With Support for the McAfees

The post blew up across social media, with Pat’s fans flooding the comments. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce jumped in with congratulations, and thousands shared their own IVF experiences.

One fan wrote, “The fact Pat is on a microphone for as long as he is and didn’t let this slip is amazing. Congrats to you both and what an amazing journey you continue to share.”

Another added, “My heart 🩵 Congratulations!! So excited for you guys and to watch Kenzie be the most amazing big sister!!”
