Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has no new deal from the Ravens. Will anything change before the beginning of the season?
The Joe Flacco Acknowledgement

About a decade ago a man named Joe Flacco lead the Ravens to a SUPERBOWL title in 2012 over the 49ers who shockingly were led by Colin Kaepernick at the time. We won’t address the Colin Kaepernick debacle. We’ll let you make that judgment call. Shockingly drafted in the 2008 draft Joe Flacco still plays which isn’t a super shock but considering he’s bounced across a few teams, he currently is the backup for rookie Zach Wilson on the Jets. He most likely gives a veteran presence and advice. And is capable of holding a team over for a few games despite not being anything like he use to be. Joe Flacco is in the final years of his career. Is he a hall of Famer? Maybe.
MR. JACKSON

Drafted
In the 2018 NFL draft, the final pick in the first round belonged to the Ravens. They drafted quarterback Lamar Jackson out of the University of Louisville known as a human highlight reel and flashy playstyle. It was clear the Ravens were signaling they were ready to Move on from Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco started the 2018 season for the Baltimore Ravens until he suffered a hip injury in week 9 in which Lamar Jackson had taken the keys to the kingdom. Joe Flacco remained with the Ravens for the rest of the season but never started again.
Lamar’s first playoff game

Come to the wildcard game as the Ravens made the playoffs in Joe’s final season. What was an awful first Half for Lamar turned Almost into a comeback win? Lamar finished with 194yds 2 TDS and 1 int. As well as 54 on the ground.
Unanimous MVP Unbelievable Season

Lamar’s sophomore season will go down as one of the all-time great seasons by a quarterback Almost too good to the point the team may have gotten over their head as they secured a first-round buy, hosted the Titans, and were annihilated on their home field and sent right back home.
Lamar finished the season 13-3 with the Ravens he threw for 3,127 yards 36 TDS to just 6 interceptions and an electric Qbr of 113 to finish the season. And guess what else? He set the record for the most rushing yds in a season by a quarterback with 1,206 and rushed for 7 TDS himself also. The record was previously held by Michael Vick set with 1,039 with the Falcons in 06. He was selected for his first Pro Bowl and won league MVP. He also ranked number 1 on the NFL’s top 100 players of the season rankings done by other players which the NFL airs yearly on YouTube / NFL Network. All of this at the age of 22
Titanic upset
The Ravens secure home field but would lose in shocking upset to the Titans ending The ravens 13-3 season masterpiece early

Junior Year
Lamar’s 3rd season was a slight drop-off, but how could that 2019 season be replicated? He still finished with a good number and rushed for 1,005 on the ground.
2020 playoffs

In the Wildcard round against the Titans, the rivalry heated up more the Ravens celebrated dancing on the Titans logo beating the Titans 20-13 in a game where Lamar threw for 179, 1 int, and rushed for 136 on the ground with a rushing TD.
Divisional Round

Then came the Divisional Round where Lamar and the Ravens traveled to Buffalo to take on the Bills. Back down to reality Mr. Jackson and the Ravens went. Lamar threw for 162 yards and an interception. The team was only able to muster up a field goal and the best way to depict the Ravens that night was Lamar Jackson laying in the end zone third quarter with a concussion in which it felt the team was dazed as well. The Bills would win 17-3 and advance to the AFC championship game where they were lit up by the Chiefs who advanced to the Super Bowl to get lit up by Tom Brady and the Bucs.
Last Season

Last season was the biggest drop-off yet. The Ravens went 8-9 finished last in the division and missed the playoffs. The interesting thing about this past season is the ravens played the AFC but handled them with ease 4-0. Their problem became a late game where they lost 6 of their 9 losses by 7 points or less. Now while Lamar only played 12 games this past season it wasn’t sweet nor pretty. He threw for 16 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. He threw for just under 2900 yds and had a horrific 50.7 QB. Even with 12 games played Lamar did not have a good season.
Money Bag Yet No Contract Extension

So all of this and now what? As of this writing, just a few weeks out from kickoff Lamar Jackson has yet to receive his anticipated mega max extension. Some quarterbacks who have already inked huge contracts are Kyler Murray 5 yrs 230 million, Deshaun Watson 5 yrs 230 million (make that one make sense), Aaron Rodgers 3 yrs 150 million, Matthew Stafford 4 yrs 160 million, Derek Carr 3 yrs 121 million.
To the amazement of many Lamar Jackson doesn’t crack that list. Jackson is currently in the final year of his 4 year 9 million dollar contract. The Ravens picked up Lamar’s 5th-year option now soaring him to 23 million this season. Regardless he will be a UFA this off-season.
While Lamar’s level of play has downed each season since his MVP year, the raven’s coaches, fans, and Lamar himself expect the extension to be done. Lamar as a side noted if a contract isn’t reached by week 1 he will halt the negotiations. Does the speedster get his mega max most think so, let’s see another great season and that should do the Trick.
