The Cleveland Browns have a 2-6 record this season and they will be facing the New York Jets (1-7 record) on the road this weekend. Many Cleveland players were on the trade block, including tight end David Njoku.

Well, Njoku was not traded. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2025 NFL season. The Browns tight end is 29 years old. It will be interesting to see if Cleveland will want to re-sign him or not after the season ends. This year with the Browns, he has caught 27 passes for 260 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 9.6 yards per carry. Njoku also has 41 targets in seven games played.
Cleveland Browns Tight End David Njoku Thrilled He Wasn’t Traded

Njoku spoke to the media on Wednesday about not being traded away from Cleveland. He was thrilled and all smiles when talking about staying in Cleveland, Ohio for now. Njoku said,
“I’m in Cleveland, baby. I’m not going nowhere. I ain’t f***ing leaving.”
He is very loyal to this organization. Not only is he loyal to the Browns organization, but maybe he loves living there as well. Njoku has played for this team since the 2017 NFL season. He has had a good career with the Browns up to this point. The number one priority for him this offseason now that he wasn’t traded from the Browns is to sign a long-term deal with Cleveland to stay there for the rest of his NFL career also.
