The NFC North rivalry turned icy on Saturday night between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, and not just because of the 32-degree temperature and 16-degree wind chill.
The Packers’ sideline heaters mysteriously stopped working during the game, while Chicago’s heaters continued to function without issue. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady didn’t mince words about the suspicious technical fault.
But fans didn’t waste time writing cheating allegations on the Bears.

FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews first shared the odd sideline technical mishap just before halftime. Andrews painted a brutal picture from the Green Bay sideline during her halftime report.
“It’s cold over here, especially because the heaters aren’t working,” she told viewers. “And the bench for the offensive line isn’t working” either.
FOX cameras captured the dead heaters on the visitors’ side. Then they panned to Bears players huddled around fully functional heating machines on the opposite sideline. The optics looked more suspicious than a holding call in overtime.

Brady suggested the Bears could be pulling a fast one on purpose. When Andrews asked if Chicago should kill their heaters to level the playing field, the GOAT didn’t hesitate. “I think if it happens on one side, it’s got to go to the other side”, Brady stated.

Just to recap, this wasn’t the Bears’ first brush with gamesmanship. After their Week 14 loss at Lambeau in sub-zero conditions, some wondered if Chicago was settling a score. The heater situation added gasoline to an already white-hot rivalry that dates back nearly a century.

After halftime, when both teams re-entered the field, the Packers’ sideline heaters started working without any issue. But the damage was already done, with many on social media claiming the Bears won because their players didn’t face the same cold conditions as Packers.
