The Miami Dolphins are looking to get back to the playoffs in 2025 after they missed the playoffs in 2024. There is a world where things can spiral out of control for the Dolphins in 2025.

The New York Jets and the New England Patriots have new head coaches, and they will look to change the culture. As for the Buffalo Bills, they will be heavy favorites to win the AFC East. In the past, Miami has had concerns with the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, especially with his concussions. Even if he were to stay healthy all season but the Dolphins have a bad year, is there a chance that this could be his final season as the starting quarterback for them?
NFL Insider Reports Miami Dolphins Could Move On From Tua Tagovailoa If Things Go Bad In 2025

Entering the 2025 NFL season, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier will both be on the hot seat. If Miami misses the playoffs once again, there is a chance that the Dolphins fire both McDaniel and Greir. If they are both fired, this could potentially spell the end of Tagovailoa.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk listed many different NFL quarterbacks who are on the hot seat in the 2025 season. Florio doesn’t think Tagovailoa will be benched in 2025, but his future could look bleak if they don’t win games. Florio said,
“His contract guarantees his pay through 2026. If the Dolphins fall flat and change coaches, the next coach likely will want a fresh start at quarterback. While the cap charges will complicate a split before 2027, every high-end quarterback contract eventually leads to a big cap charge when the relationship ends. The next coach (and the next G.M., if owner Stephen Ross cleans house) may want to rip the Band-Aid off in one motion.”
If they are both fired, there is a chance that Miami is drafting in the Top 5 to Top 10 in the 2026 NFL Draft in a potential rich quarterback draft class. They are a team that will be worth monitoring during the 2025 NFL season.
During the 2024 season, he completed 72.9% of his passes for 2,867 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Despite his completion percentage, he was 21st in passing yards and 19th in passing touchdowns during the 2024 NFL season. Tyreek Hill’s production dropped as well. If Miami and Tagovailoa don’t play well in 2025, there will be a total house cleaning for the 2026 NFL season.
