There were many Florida Gators fans calling for head coach Billy Napier to be fired during the middle of the 2024 college football season. However, Napier turned things around toward the end of the season with Florida.
The Gators finished with a 7-5 record during the 2024 college football season. Florida is predicted to finish sixth in the SEC Conference this season. This would potentially mean that the Gators will potentially show progress. An 8-4 or 9-3 season would maybe not get Napier fired despite the playoff miss. Anything less than that could potentially get him fired.
College Football Fans React To Florida Gators Head Coach Billy Napier Being Number 1 On Hot Seat List
Ari Wasserman of on3.com listed his Top 10 coaches on the hot seat entering the 2025 college football season. He has the Gators head coach ranked number one on the list entering the season. Napier is entering his fourth season with the program. A lot of Florida’s season is going to ride upon quarterback D.J. Lagway.
Lagway is already dealing with a lower leg injury and is in a boot. Napier mentioned on Tuesday that he is day-to-day throughout training camp. If his injury is serious, it might potentially cost him his job. College football fans said about Napier being on the hot seat on Twitter:

Napier is going to be one of several coaches in the SEC Conference who will be on the hot seat entering the 2025 season. If Florida finishes worse than 7-5, they are going to find a new head coach for the 2026 season. If the Gators and Napier part ways after the 2025 college season, then Florida is going to be one of the hottest jobs available.
