The Cleveland Browns enter the 2025 NFL season with major questions at the quarterback position. That is the only position that will have question marks.

Cleveland also has major questions at the wide receiver position. The starting Browns receivers for the 2025 season will be Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Diontae Johnson. After that, it is exactly not a deep group. Cleveland could look to improve this position before the 2025 NFL season. One player that the Browns could be inquiring on is Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
Cleveland Browns Insider Reveals the Odds That Team Will Trade For Washington Commanders Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin

McLaurin is entering his final year of his contract with the Commanders, and he is looking for a new long-term deal. There is a chance that he is still holding out for Washington by the time training camp rolls around. If they don’t give him a long-term deal at 29 years old, there is a chance that other NFL teams could make a move for him.
Mary Kay Cabot was on Cleveland’s Talking Heads on Tuesday morning on 92.3 the fan and talked about the Browns chances of trading for the Washington wide receiver. Cabot said,
“I wouldn’t rule it out, but I don’t get the sense right now that they’re looking to add a big, high-priced WR.”
Would Cleveland be willing to part with one its first-round selections in the 2026 NFL Draft for McLaurin? The Browns are not a team that is just a wide receiver away from being a Super Bowl contender. Cleveland has other holes on this roster and could be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2025.
McLaurin played for the Ohio State Buckeyes in college and that could be a reason for him to return to the Buckeye State. During the 2024 NFL season with the Commanders, he caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns, along with averaging 13.4 yards per reception. McLaurin also was targeted 117 times.
He was catching passes from Jayden Daniels in 2024 with the Commanders and he is going to be a star in the NFL moving forward. As for the Browns, they have a major quarterback battle going on at the moment. Cleveland may not be a destination for McLaurin. There will be some better options for him to be traded too, and the Browns are not one of them.
