The Cleveland Browns will have one of the most fiercest quarterback competitions before the start of the 2025 NFL season. It appears as if Deshaun Watson will probably be out of the mix.

There will be four quarterbacks vying for one spot. Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Joe Flacco will be competing for that spot. Sanders was a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is one of the most polarizing rookies in the NFL. Head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke out about what he has seen from Sanders as of late.
Cleveland Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski Talks About Shedeur Sanders In Latest ESPN Radio Appearance

The Browns head coach made an appearance in studio on ESPN Cleveland on Friday morning. Stefanski was talking about Sanders and in what he has seen in him so far. Stefanski said about Sanders,
“He’s in there early, he’s getting his work done, he’s working really, really hard. I like everything there is about Shedeur.”
Well, Stefanski is not going to say anything bad about him publicly. For now, Sanders is not the leader to be the starting quarterback in Week 1 for the Browns. Pickett or Flacco will most likely be the starting quarterback in Week 1. It would be a major shock if Cleveland kept four quarterbacks on the roster for Week 1.
Despite signing a four-year $4.6 million deal already this offseason, it remains to be seen if Sanders will make the roster or not out of training camp. There is still over two months away from the start of training camp. Stefanski can say the positive stuff to the media for right now but will find out much more about the Browns quarterback competition when the time training camp rolls around also.
