The Tennessee Titans drafted quarterback Cam Ward from the Miami Hurricanes number one overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. There has not been a lot of hype around this number one pick.

This is the quietest number one pick in quite some time. There has been more hype and attention around Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders than there has been around Ward. This is the way that the rookie quarterback for the Titans wants it.
Tennessee Titans Rookie Quarterback Cam Ward Only Focused On Football Entering the 2025 NFL Season

There is no doubt that the Titans are looking forward to Ward being the Week 1 starter for the team after Will Levis will miss the entirety of the 2025 season because of shoulder surgery. Ward is looking to get Tennessee back to the playoffs in the AFC after having a 3-14 record during the 2024 NFL season.
Ward spoke to The Athletic about his first-padded practice with the Titans on Tuesday and said,
“I don’t care about the hype. I don’t care about social media. All I care about is this 100-yard field. … At the end of the day, football takes care of everything.”
It appears as if he doesn’t want the media attention like some of these other quarterbacks do. All Ward wants to do is get to work and help out his teammates. One of the biggest questions about Ward this year won’t be his transition from college to the NFL, but will Tennessee’s offensive line be able to protect him upright?
That was a weakness for the Titans during the 2024 NFL season. Ward will have a decent supporting cast around him. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears will be the running backs. Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, and Van Jefferson will be the starting wide receivers. Chig Okonkwo will be the starting tight end.
If Tennessee does make it to the playoffs, Ward will be one of the front runners for offensive rookie of the year in the AFC. The Titans have a long uphill battle in 2025, and head coach Brian Callahan will need Ward to be the player he was with the Hurricanes during the 2024 season.
