It doesn’t matter if the Eagles are ahead of their opponent or down; their players are never shy of doing nasty plays on the field. Most of the time, they escape with no penalty because NFL officials treat them softly. The greatest example happened in the fourth quarter of the very recent game against the Giants.

The Eagles were 22 points ahead of the Giants, but safety Sydney Brown leaped into the air and threw a flying knee directly at New York’s Gunner Olszewski’s head.
What really set fans off was what should not have happened next. Officials literally let the play continue, but if it were any other team, then a 50K penalty would have already been thrown in their mouth.
Eagles’ Sydney Brown Caught Delivering Flying Knee to Giants Star in Shocking Mid-Game Moment
Wearing the Eagles’ green and silver, Brown directly jumped into the air as Olszewski tried to stay balanced near the end zone. If you want, you can count the airtime as well.
It did look like no way a standard form of tackle. It seemed like something from a UFC fight and WWE ring. This unnecessary textbook roughness usually gets players kicked out and fined before leaving the field.

The brutal hit came on special teams coverage, and Brown’s knee connected flush with Olszewski’s dome. In any properly officiated game, that’s an automatic 15-yard penalty and a first down. At the very least, it should’ve been flagged for launching, helmet-to-helmet contact, or unnecessary roughness.
But the officials? They acted like Brown just executed a routine play. The zebras just let it ride, and the internet lost its mind wondering if the refs had their wallets stuffed by somebody in midnight green.
Fans Rip Officials Over Blatant No-Call
Social media absolutely torched the officiating crew for the blown call. People from all 32 teams jumped in, saying the rules aren’t fair and the refs play favorites.
One fed-up fan wrote, “I just want to know How Much Did Philly Pay to them?”
Another fan went full conspiracy theory, posting, “Philly was told they could literally do anything this game & nothing will be called.”
A third simply asked the obvious question, penning, “How in the hell is that not a penalty?”
The fourth commenter zeroed in on Brown’s reputation, noting, “He is a walking personal foul. Everytime he is on the field he is doing the most after the play is over.”
A fifth fan compared league-wide double standards, adding, “Eagles or Chiefs do it: ‘No flag, incidental contact’ Any other NFL Team: 15 yard penalty, ejection, and $50k fine.”
The Eagles won 38-20, with Jalen Hurts tying his career high by throwing four touchdown passes. But when your defensive back is trending more than your quarterback’s four-touchdown performance, you’ve got a problem.
But before that, the NFL must do something about referees because fans are extremely angry now.
