“How Healthy Will He Be”: ESPN Ranks Florida Gators Quarterback DJ Lagway As a Top 25 Player In the Sport Entering the 2025 Season

The Florida Gators 2025 college football season depends on how healthy quarterback DJ Lagway will be. A lot of people are picking the Gators to be a potential college football playoff team in 2025.

If Lagway is healthy, they can win a bunch of games this year. If not, Florida could be on the verge of having another 7-5 season or potentially worse. If they don’t do well, then head coach Billy Napier could be fired.

Florida Gators Quarterback D.J. Lagway Ranked 25 In ESPN Top 100 College Football Players Poll

Chris Low of espn.com said about Gators quarterback D.J. Lagway being ranked 25th best player in college football entering 2025 season,

“The only question with Lagway is how healthy he will be. He was limited by an injury to his throwing shoulder in the spring then by a calf strain this preseason. When he is 100 percent, Lagway’s ceiling is as high as any quarterback in the country. He posted a 6-1 record in seven starts last season as a true freshman, and he has terrific awareness as both a passer and a runner.”

He passed for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2025. Lagway is in a conference where there a bunch of talented quarterbacks in the SEC Conference also.
