The Houston Texans improved to 3-1 this season after a gritty win against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Star receiver Nico Collins has his best game of the season so far, amounting to 151 receiving yards on 12 catches and a touchdown. However, the star receiver was questionably punished by the NFL for what looked like a routine play, and fans are not happy about it.
Houston Texans Star Punished
The league fined Collins $22,511 for unnecessary roughness and use of the helmet on a play where he was going out of bounds after making a reception. There was no penalty called by the referees on the play, and many people think that he should not have been punished after seeing the video of the hit.

Several fans think that the league is being “soft” for fining Collin for what looks just like a routine play out of bounds.
Nico Collins Career
Collins has established himself as one of the top receivers in the league coming into his fourth year with the Texans. The star has been able to come down with 180 catches for 2,713 yards and 13 touchdowns so far, and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
While he is listed as the wide receiver two on the team’s depth chart behind Stefon Diggs, his production has made many fans and analysts believe that he could be the top target on most teams around the league.
The NFL has been heavily criticized this week for the amount of questionable fines handed out to players, and this one to Collins is amongst the top of disagreeable offenses. Do you think that the receiver deserved to be fined for this hit, or did the league go over the top with this punishment?
