The Houston Texans have taken a quarterback. After a couple of weeks of questioning what they would do with the second overall pick, they ended up taking quarterback CJ Stroud out of Ohio State. It seems that the S2 scores did not concern them and they have their quarterback of the future.

    Houston Texans Take CJ Stroud

Stroud was one of the most volatile prospects in this draft. At one point, he was the betting favorite for the number one overall pick. A couple of weeks later, he was scheduled to fall out of the top ten. His reported low S2 cognitive test scores caused many to recoil but there have been some conflicting reports on whether that is true. Ultimately, the Texans did not seem concerned and they are very excited to get the quarterback of the future.

What Will The Texans Be This Year?

The Texans are going to try to do some building of the roster this year. They are not going to compete this year but are going to try and lay the groundwork for the future. This year is all about the development of Stroud. If he can show that he can be the long-term option at quarterback, the Texans will be happy. It was a smart move for the team to take a quarterback.

The Texans were looking to make a big splash and they did. They got CJ Stroud and are looking to build a competitor in the AFC. Honestly, the Houston Texans would probably take a winning season at this point. The rebuild begins now in Houston.
