The 2023 USFL schedule for the Houston Gamblers was released on February 7th. If you want a general look at all team schedules, you can find that here, but all things Gamblers is below.
Houston Gamblers USFL 2023 schedule:
The Houston Gamblers’ home turf will be in Memphis, TN, at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
Week 1: April 16th, 12 PM EST in Memphis, TN and on NBC – Michigan Panthers
Last year, the Houston Gamblers played against the Michigan Panthers week 1, last year. The Gamblers won that game, and there’s no reason to believe this year will be different.
Week 2: April 22nd, 12:30 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – New Orleans Breakers
The Breakers successfully beat the Gamblers in the early game last season. It would be hard to break(er) that record. Particularly at the New Orleans team’s home stadium.
Week 3: April 29th, 7 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Memphis Showboats
Houston can show the boats in Memphis not to Gamble on a win in their first year in the league.
Week 4: May 6th, 1 PM EST in Detroit, MI – Philadelphia Stars
The Stars won against the Gamblers easily last year. Former McNeese Cowboy Isaiah Chambers, a solid defensive end who came in late last season, may give Houston a leg up against a team that is stronger on the offensive side of the ball.
Week 5: May 13th, 4 PM EST in Birmingham, AL – Birmingham Stallions
The Stallions lost one game to Houston and lost by only five points in the second. The Gamblers could remain the burr in Birmingham’s saddle.
Week 6: May 21st, 4 PM EST in Memphis, TN – New Jersey Generals
The Generals defeated Houston easily. New Jersey held on to the USFL’s Coach of the Year of 2022, Mike Riley. The Generals will only be more formidable this season. This would be a tough win.
Week 7: May 28th, 2 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Memphis Showboats
Both teams are on home turf, and by week 7, the Showboats will have a feel for what to expect in the League. This is anyone’s game.
Week 8: June 3rd, 12 PM EST in Canton, OH – Pittsburg Maulers
The Maulers were a near win for Houston last year – the Gamblers also had a winning streak at the end of the season. These two things could come together in Houston’s favor.
Week 9: June 11th, 2 PM EST in Memphis, TN – Birmingham Stallions
The Houston Gamblers brought the Stallions to their knees last year, and with the home-field advantage, they can stampede to a win again.
Week 10: June 18th, 4 PM EST in Memphis, TN – New Orleans Breakers
Last year, the Gamblers beat the Breakers in the final game of the 2022 regular season. If they hedge their bets right, Houston will also take this win.
The Houston Gamblers were at the bottom of the Southern Division last year with a 3-7 record. They lost three of those seven games by just one point. That shows a potential to win that the Gamblers need to tap into. It’s only up from here!
