One of the biggest stories in the NFL over the last few days has been Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL during the 16-13 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Mahomes underwent surgery on Monday to repair the issue.

Well, it is going to be interesting to see if he will be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season for Kansas City or not. Another major question for this team this offseason will be is tight end Travis Kelce going to retire or not. The Chiefs have a 6-8 record this season. Gardner Minshew will be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season for this football team.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Makes Comments About Patrick Mahomes Torn ACL

Kelce was talking on the New Heights Show about Mahomes tearing his ACL. This is the first time in his career that he suffered a major injury. Kelce said about Mahomes trying to get back to the field as soon as possible,
“He’s gonna make sure he comes back stronger than ever … hopefully the Chiefs can get him back as soon as possible.”
With it being December now, it could be very hard for Mahomes to be ready for August and September for next season. Kansas City may not be a championship contender next year as well. Kelce may not be on the field the next time that Mahomes suits up for Kansas City, however. Also, who knows if he will be the same quarterback ever again after this ACL injury.
