The Pittsburgh Steelers were heading to the other side of the state for a Keystone State matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles down the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Steelers were 10-3 entering this football game and the Eagles were 11-2 entering this football game.
In the fourth quarter, Pittsburgh Steelers star outside linebacker T.J. Watt injured his ankle when the team was down 27-13. Watt went to the sideline and then went to the locker room and he did not return.
Pittsburgh Steelers Fans Furious With T.J. Watt Leaving the Game With An Injury
Watt is probably the best defensive player on the team. When he left the game with an injury, a lot of Steelers fans were furious. This is what some of the fans had to say about the injury on Twitter:
Thanks a lot @NFL. You let your refs get away with holding TJ Watt every down, every game, all season. Your lack of accountability for @NFLOfficiating likely just injured one of the best defensive players in the game. You make enough money to prevent this and fix it long term.

If officials actually threw flags for holding calls, maybe TJ Watt would still be in the game.
That injury doesn’t happen if he isn’t getting mauled.

TJ Watt getting hurt because Lane Johnson was holding him, and has been holding him all game, is a cherry on top of this horrible game.

Let’s hope/pray that this is not a left 5th metatarsal Jones fracture. Saying it so it doesn’t come true. pic.twitter.com/mUTfr0qQkb— David J. Chao – ProFootballDoc (@ProFootballDoc) December 16, 2024
To no surprise, the Pittsburgh Steelers are complaining about the NFL refs, but a lot of fanbases do. T.J. Watt is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Hopefully, head coach Mike Tomlin will reveal a positive update about the star player after the game.
Face the Baltimore Ravens Next
The Steelers will face the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday afternoon. It will be interesting to see if Watt is ready to play for that matchup or not. After that contest, Pittsburgh will face the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.
