The New York Giants have been making many headlines in training camp already in the first couple of days. On Thursday, rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter has been making a lot of noise, but defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is now making headlines as well.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he said about Lawrence on Thursday,
“Sources: The #Giants have rewarded star DT Dexter Lawrence, adding $3M in incentives to his current deal for 2025. Lawrence is set to make $17M this season, plus the newly negotiated incentives. After another stellar season, NYG does right by its Pro Bowler.”
According to many, Lawrence is the best defensive tackle in the NFL. This is a well deserved pay raise for the star defensive tackle before the 2025 NFL season begins. Lawrence is 27 years old and is currently in the prime of his NFL career. During the 2024 season with the Giants, he recorded 44 tackles, nine sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection.
He is often getting double teamed on the line. With Carter on the team now, there is a chance that Lawrence may not be doubled teamed as much.

Lawrence is going to prove once again that he is the best defensive tackle in the NFL during the 2025 season. He, Carter, and others on the Giants defense will have a chance to become one of the best units in the NFL during the 2025 season also.
