There are a lot of Miami Dolphins fans who have not been happy with head coach Mike McDaniel this season. After they lost the Baltimore Ravens 28-6 on Thursday night, the Dolphins dropped to 2-7 on the season when the Ravens improved to 3-5.

This loss for Miami led to this team deciding to part ways with general manager Chris Grier. It is interesting that the Dolphins decided to get rid of him right now and he has been with the team since the 2016 season. Well, Adam Schefter of espn.com reported about if McDaniel is staying for now or not and said,
“Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel will remain Miami’s head coach for the remainder of the season at least, per sources.”
NFL Fans Have Mixed Emotions Over Miami Dolphins Keeping HC Mike McDaniel For the Remainder Of the 2025 NFL Season

Miami is probably waiting to fire McDaniel after the season ends, and they probably have no intentions of wanting to have an interim head coach in the time being. He will most likely complete his fourth season with the team, but he will probably be looking for another head coaching job or another offensive coordinator role for the 2026 NFL season.
This is what some NFL fans had to say about the Dolphins keeping McDaniel as head coach for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season:
he’s not the problem IMO. Imagine this dude with Goff or someone who can throw the ball accurately and consistently

Good. I’m so glad to see a legitimate football-minded decision to finally happen in one of these spots.
This is absolutely not McDaniel’s fault. He consistently puts them in positions to win with his strategy, the players just suck and cannot execute — especially Tua.

Went from Tank for Tua to Tank with Tua

Stephen Ross LOVES Mike McDaniel and would NEVER get rid of him during the season. https://t.co/Gwd10O6O1J

It’s always fascinating to me, how head coaches in the NFL lose their jobs.
They will hold onto a quarterback and go down with the sinking ship instead of replacing them.
Miami is just another example.

Miami is slowing going to tear there this thing down. Parting ways with Grier was a start. McDaniel will probably be gone at the end of the season. The next regime will probably have no interest in keeping Tua at quarterback. Tagovailoa will probably be traded once the season ends or maybe the next regime will just release him entirely. The Dolphins can be penciled in for selecting a quarterback during the 2026 NFL Draft.
