The New York Giants offense will look to be more dynamic during the 2025 NFL season. This football team has struggled to score points over the last couple of seasons.
Hopefully the 2025 season will provide a more dynamic offense for this football team. One way this offense could potentially be dynamic is the running back tandem between Tyrone Tracy Jr. and rookie running back Cam Skattebo. Skattebo was one of the catalysts on the Arizona State Sun Devils offense during the 2024 college football season.
New York Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll Praises Rookie Running Back Cam Skattebo So Far During Training Camp
Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic wrote about how each of the Giants rookies are faring during training camp to this point. There have been glowing reports about rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter and also more positive reports about rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Well, Skattebo has also been very good for the Giants as of late. For now, he is projected to be the second running back on New York’s depth chart, but there is a good chance that he and Tracy could split carries in the backfield during the 2025 NFL season. A lot of Giants players are impressed with Skattebo’s skillset, especially catching passes out of the backfield.
Head coach Brian Daboll spoke to the media about what Skattebo has done so far in training camp for the Giants. Daboll said,
“There’s not many times, at least that I’ve seen him here, like ‘Why is he going where he’s going?’ He’s got a good feel for the blocking assignments up front, but then he’s got good vision for the second level and at times the third level of when to press the ball, when to cut it back, when to keep it front side.”
A lot of Giants fans are going to like the energy he is going to bring to this football team in the backfield during the 2025 NFL season. Skattebo has a chance to become a fan favorite in New York. The Giants are looking to have this Skattebo and Tracy tandem like they did with Josh Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw.
It will be interesting to see how often the rookie running back sees the field in 2025. Skattebo seems like he is able to pick up pass protection, see the running lanes well, and also can catch passes out of the backfield. With him doing all of that effectively in training camp, this will have the coaching staff trusting him in crucial spots.
