The New York Giants have a 2-9 record this season and there are already reports about who they could potentially be interviewing down the road for the next head coach spot. New York has only made the playoffs twice since winning the Super Bowl in 2011.
The Giants need a coach who is going to be a program builder and change things around in a hurry. There are a lot different names out there, but there is a name that could pop up later on. Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott could potentially be on the hot seat in Buffalo. If they were to let him go, there could be some teams that could potentially look to hire him as head coach.
New York Giants Fans Don’t Like the Idea Of Maybe Hiring Sean McDermott As Head Coach If Fired By Buffalo Bills
NYGDaily posted on his Twitter page after the Bills lost to the Houston Texans on Thursday night,
“I’d imagine if Sean McDermott is let go by the Buffalo Bills, he’d be a top candidate for the Giants job, especially if Joe Schoen is retained and McDermott doesn’t hate him.”
This would be a very interesting thing to watch out for. It remains to be seen if general manager Joe Schoen will even keep his job in 2026. Also, Buffalo probably will not fire McDermott and find a way into the playoffs. This is what Giants fans had to say on Twitter about the possibility of him being the next New York head coach:

It may feel like a pipedream for the Giants to get McDermott as head coach. With that being said, New York fans are miserable. Obviously, they want to win a Super Bowl, but they need to make the playoffs before they can even talk about Super Bowl.
