The NFL, NCAA, and football world in general is mourning the loss of one of their own on Thursday. Breaking news has emerged detailing one head coach tragically losing his life in a car accident.
BREAKING: Head Coach Tragically Dies In Car Accident; Details Emerging

The sudden death of Bergenfield head football coach Robert Violante has tragically passed away in a car accident:
He was tragically killed in a car accident on Wednesday, Bergenfield Superintendent Dr. Christopher M. Tully said in a letter on Thursday morning.
Violante, head football coach at New Jersey’s Bergenfield High School, was killed in a horrific accident on the Taconic State Parkway in New York.
Bergenfield’s superintendent and mayor confirmed that Violante was one of the four people who died in the fiery collision on Wednesday.
Violante coached football and track at the high school. He was headed home from school at the time of the crash.

According to local reporter Kevin Devaney Jr:
Absolutely devastated to learn about the passing of Rob Violante this morning.
Rob was a star QB and basketball player at Somers when I was in HS. Always heard the name and knew he was the son of legendary football coach Skip Violante at Dobbs Ferry.
And he, and his brothers Chris and Brian, later became friends of mine. Really got to know Rob when he was an assistant on the state championship football teams, under bis dad, at Dobbs in the mid 2000s.
Rob was then an assistant basketball coach on the Lincoln Hall team that won a Gold Ball in the unforgettable game at the County Center. He was currently the head coach and admin at Bergenfield HS in NJ. Almost all of our conversations the last five years was him speaking with pride about his nephews, Andrew and Cameron, and their successes as athletes in Somers. He lived for his nephews and nieces.
He didn’t miss one of their games. I always admired that pride he had in his family and how close they were. Rob was one of the people killed in the fatal accident on the Taconic yesterday. My love to the Violante’s, one of my favorite families I’ve come across in my life. Genuinely good people and the model sports family.
Rob was one of a kind.

He was known affectionately to many as ‘Coach V.’
“His unexpected loss is deeply felt across our entire school community, and we know that Bergenfield High School and our town will never be the same without him,” Schools Superintendent Christopher Tully wrote in a letter to students, parents, and staff.
Tully wrote that Violante had been “a mentor, a father figure, and true friend’ during his 15 years at both Bergenfield High and Jefferson Elementary.
