Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is going to be the talk of college football for the 2025 season. Many are wondering if Manning will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft after the 2025 college football season.

Texas is focused on trying to win its first National Title in 2025 for the first time since the 2005 season where Mack Brown was the head coach and Vince Young was the starting quarterback.  Steve Sarkisian will be entering his fifth season as the Longhorns head coach. He is going from Quinn Ewers to Manning as the starting quarterback here.

There will be a lot of build up about Manning for the 2025 college football season. There will be a lot of quarterbacks potentially going in the 2026 NFL Draft. Manning is one of the names to potentially watch for to go in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Joel Klatt of Fox Sports ranked his Top 10 players who will be in the 2026 NFL Draft potentially. He had Manning ranked number two on his list. Klatt had Ohio State Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs as the number one ranked draft prospect. Klatt said about Manning being ranked second on his list,

“Truth be told, I don’t think Manning is going to declare for the 2026 draft, but he is eligible for next year’s draft. So, I’ve got to include him, at least for now. Sure, Manning hasn’t started much or even played a ton of football through his first two seasons in Austin. However, you can see the athleticism and arm strength in the little bit he’s played.

I really believe Texas is going to take the next step under Steve Sarkisian due to Manning. If the Longhorns aren’t in the national championship game next season, I’m going to be fairly surprised. This Texas program is excellent, with Sarkisian continuously building this team closer and closer to a title. As Manning becomes the full-time starter next year, Texas will also bring in the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. Suffice to say, I’m in on Texas and Manning. “

The Longhorns made it to the college football playoffs semifinals in the last two seasons. They lost to the Washington Huskies and the Buckeyes in those games. Klatt believes that Texas will get back there and potentially get to the National Championship Game this upcoming college football season. If Manning delivers a national title to Austin, Texas in 2025, the odds are that he will be the number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
