The Philadelphia Eagles had one of the most electrifying offenses in the NFL during the 2024 season because of running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley was the best offensive player for the Eagles.

He helped Philadelphia hoist another Lombardi Trophy. A lot of people thought he lost his game when he was with the New York Giants, but Barkley reached another level with the Eagles. Entering the 2025 season, he is probably the best running back in the NFL. Where does he rank amongst the Top 100 players in the NFL entering the 2025 season?
Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley Ranked Number 3 In CBS Top 100 NFL Players Entering 2025 Season

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports listed his Top 100 players entering the 2025 NFL season. At number three, he ranked Barkley on this list. Barkley was not on this list at all entering the 2024 season and he rewrote the script for himself. Prisco said,
“Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards in leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory. He can do so many things for the Eagles offense, which is why he is a real MVP candidate heading into this season.”
To go along with his 2,005 rushing yards during the regular season, he had 345 carries and 13 touchdowns, along with averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Barkley was also a threat coming out of the backfield as well. He also caught 33 passes for 278 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 8.4 yards per reception.
He is 28 years old, and Barkley went to show in 2024 that he obviously had something left in the tank. It will be interesting to see if he can stay healthy during the 2025 NFL season. Barkley can have another MVP caliber season. However, a running back has not won the MVP award since the 2012 season when Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings won the award. It will most likely go to a quarterback once again.
