“He Has Been Great In the Playoffs”: NFL Analyst Makes Stunning Take About Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens finished as the number three seed in the AFC a season ago before losing to the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. It was another season that quarterback Lamar Jackson did not reach the Super Bowl.

He has won two MVPs in his career but could have won a third one last season. Instead, Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the MVP award. Entering the 2025 season, there will be pressure on Jackson to finally get to the Super Bowl for Baltimore. If he does not reach a Super Bowl, it will be interesting to see how others think of him.

There have been questions about Jackson’s postseason play over the years. Well, he has only been to the AFC Championship Game once. With that being said, he was not the reason why they lost to Buffalo last season. The loss fell squarely on the shoulders of tight end Mark Andrews.

Foxsports.com ranked the Top 10 quarterbacks entering the 2025 NFL season. They think Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 1A and Jackson is 1B. Ben Arthur said about Lamar,

“Jackson is still getting better as a passer, and that’s a scary thought for opposing defenses considering he may already be the most talented player in the league. The two-time NFL MVP surpassed 4,000 passing yards for the first time last season, and he’s just as dynamic of a runner as he was at the start of his career. He has been great in the playoffs as of late, too. It’s just that his team hasn’t helped him get over the hump to reach a Super Bowl.”

In 17 regular season games for Baltimore last season, he completed 66.7% of his passes for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Jackson also rushed for 915 yards on 139 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 6.6 yards per carry. In the postseason, he has a 3-5 record in his career. Jackson’s numbers in the postseason are not as close as what Allen of the Bills has produced.

He has shown improvement, but there will still be questions about Jackson in the postseason. However, there are no questions about Allen in the playoffs, and it is the defense that has let him down with the Bills.
