Lane Kiffin remains a hot favourite candidate for the LSU and Florida head coaching role. The speculation continues to grow as his family reportedly visited both places via airplane in the days after Ole Miss beat Florida 34-24 last weekend.

However, “Mostly Sports With Mark Titus & Brandon Walker” podcast host Walker believes Kiffin isn’t going anywhere.
“He ain’t going nowhere, he’s not going to LSU, he’s not going to Florida,” Walker said. “Yesterday over the last couple days it came out that his family traveled to Gainesville, they traveled to Baton Rouge, they are just putting on a front to make it look like he is going to be a triumphant return to Ole Miss.
“They’re going to announce either the week of the Egg Bowl or later this week. I know when they’re trying to make a big show. And they planted the LSU rumors yesterday to make it look like he chose them over LSU and it is bulls*it. It is all bulls*it. He is playing the game, Lane Kiffin is not leaving Ole Miss.”
“He is not going to LSU, he is not going to Florida– I will guarantee that… Lane Kiffin is not leaving Ole Miss”

According to Stewart Mandel of The Athletic, Ole Miss front office gave Kiffin until the annual Egg Bowl against Mississippi State to make a decision on his future. However, he joined “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, where he denied any ultimatum had come from the Rebels administration.
Since coming to Ole Miss in 2020, Kiffin has led the Rebels to a 54-19 record with three bowl wins along the way.
Peter Burns Urges Lane Kiffin to Move in Silence as LSU and Florida Pursue Him
As speculation continues to build around Kiffin’s next move, ESPN analyst Peter Burns addressed the ongoing chatter during Tuesday’s episode of “SEC This Morning.”
Burns urged Kiffin to step away from the noise by offering a very direct message.
“Log off. Like, go move in silence and handle your business, whether it’s going to be at LSU, or going to be at Florida, or going to be at Ole Miss,” Burns said. “The Ole Miss fan base, the players, man, they want you to be locked in.”
Burns then dove deeper into what he believes is fueling the situation. He suggested that Kiffin’s frequent online activity is intensifying speculation rather than calming it.
“I think it’s mostly the social media thing,” Burns added. “This is not new. I think people have been around it, like, ‘Hey, coaches are going to interview.’ But I think it’s more of Lane keeps pumping out social media stuff, like, ‘I love Ole Miss. Ole Miss is great.’”
Multiple reports indicate that both LSU and Florida have been aggressively pursuing Kiffin. However, for now, Kiffin remains focused on leading his current squad as they continue their phenomenal season. Ole Miss is scheduled to face Mississippi State on Friday.
