After a dominant first season with Pearl River Community College, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors offered a top junior college cornerback.
Zavier Fairley, a Mississippi native, attend Pearl River Community College last season and has returned this season to continue to dominate. Fairley refers to himself as the ‘Walking Seatbelt’ and his shutdown play in coverage backups the nickname. The cornerback is full of confidence and plays on the field with a different level of intensity, which has caught the eye of Hawaii and plenty of other schools.
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Quickly Offer Scholarship to Exceptional CB Zavier Fairley

The Hawaii football team is off to a 1-1 start on the field to kickoff the 2024 collegiate season for the team. Hawaii is led by quarterback Brayden Schager on offense, but is still looking for a true defensive leader. One such potential leader is a player who can come in and quickly set an example for what excellence looks like.
Junior college standout Zavier Fairley of Pearl River Community College in Mississippi recently earned scholarship offer from the Rainbow Warriors staff. Fairley felt blessed to earn the offer, and since then has been in contact with plenty of other programs. The cornerback stated, “Ever since I got the Hawaii offer I have been speaking to new coaches and I am starting to pick up more schools every day.”
Fairley played very well a season ago, shutting down his side of the field and forcing many quarterbacks to attack elsewhere. The cornerback proved he can truly shut down whoever he must cover, and that style of play has earned him plenty of collegiate attention. While other programs are starting to contact Fairley, Hawaii hopes they can snag the commitment in the end.
What can Fairley Provide the Hawaii Football Team on the Field?

The ‘Walking Seatbelt’ does not need much of an introduction before explaining what he can do on the field. Fairley built his own island in the Mississippi Community College football world last season and intends on keeping it afloat this season. Fairley is not just a shutdown cornerback either, but also an elusive ballhawk who truly should not be challenged through the air.
At 6-feet-3-inches, Fairley is a tall, physical cornerback that not only physically shuts down opposing receivers but also bullies them. Fairley recorded a forced fumble last season on a helmet rocking hit and proved he is not afraid to play physical football. The cornerback truly packs a punch for someone at his position and it is largely due to his positioning.
Fairley is consistently in the right spot and always puts himself in a position to make a play even when the ball is not thrown towards his way. The cornerback is constantly moving and watching the eyes of the quarterback as the play progresses. Fairley is also a sure tackler and provides a certain level of comfort in the secondary knowing he can secure a tackle.
When asked about what sets the cornerback from other players, Fairley responded, “I think what sets me apart from other recruits is that I only focus on myself and what I can control.” The cornerback added, “I been trying to make a name for myself and my family and I will no matter what it takes.” Fairley is bound to make an impact on the Hawaii football team if he joins, but regardless of where he goes, the lucky team is getting a seriously hard worker.
