Division rivals clash this Sunday as the Packers take on the Vikings from U.S Bank stadium in Minneapolis Minnesota. These teams are very familiar with each other and are loaded with talent. Minnesota is lead by quarter back Kirk Cousins and star wideout Justin Jefferson. The Vikings also have a tremendous running back in Dalvin Cook who surely is set for a big season. One concern with the Vikings for me is their lackluster defense. Green Bay is setup for a Super Bowl run this season. One of the best defenses in the NFL combined with Aaron Rodgers is a dangerous combination. The Packers are loaded with two amazing running backs, each of which are unique in their own way. This will be a tough task for the Vikings defense.
37-year-old Kevin O’Connell takes over as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings this season. Kevin O’Connell is known for an air raid offense which lead the Rams to their Super Bowl win last season. There is a lot of pressure on O’Connell this season and every decision will be scrutinized. Week one is a great chance for O’Connell to prove he is the right man for this heading coaching job. A win against the 3 years reigning NFC north champs would surely look good for O’Connell and the Vikings. With this said, I think even a fired-up Vikings squad at home may fall short to the more talented Packers team.
Green Bay Packers Vs Minnesota Vikings Betting Lock
Current odds have this matchup set as a pick ’em. The Vikings are setup as a home square dog this Sunday. I hear all the talking heads saying, “The Packers have no receivers” and “The Vikings will be so much better this year”. Minnesota may be better this year, but Aaron Rodgers runs this division. Rodgers will make whatever receivers he plays with look like pro bowlers. Rodgers combined with an elite offensive line and two stud running backs gives me plenty of confidence. Lets also not forget the Packers defense is top 3 in the NFL. The Vikings have home field advantage, but don’t get it twisted, the Packers are the much better team. Give me Green Bay money line at -115 odds. Its unlikely we get another chance to get Green Bay at these odds this season. Back Rodgers and the Packers on the ML.
