The Green Bay Packers have began preparation for their next opponent. They will welcome the Arizona Cardinals to Lambeau Field for a Week 6 battle. The Cardinals are coming off a 24-23 upset of the San Francisco 49ers last week. On the other hand, Green Bay went into Los Angeles and beat the Rams 24-19. Kickoff is Noon CST on FOX. Here are the keys to a Green Bay Packers victory Sunday.
The Green Bay Packers Defense Needs to make Kyler Murray One-Dimensional
Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray can win games with his arm, but he might be even more dangerous with his legs. He is currently averaging 50 yards a game rushing and ran for a 50 yard touchdown against the 49ers. He is small at only 5’10, but he has the ability to hide behind his offensive line and avoid defenders when being blitzed.
I am concerned about this Green Bay Packers defense with Murray. They have struggled to get a consistent pass rush all season. If Murray can feel pressure, he has no issue taking off. History also this the Green Bay Packers are horrible against rushing quarterbacks. If the game is tight in the fourth quarter, Murray is potentially the difference in this game.
Continue to Win the Turnover Battle
The Packers have been great at forcing turnovers this season, something they were not good at under former defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Murray has only turned the ball over three times this season, but has shown over the course of his career to turn the ball over.
The longer this Green Bay Packers defense can keep a rushing threat like Murray and a potentially explosive offense on the sidelines. it makes life harder for the Cardinals defense. The forecast is calling for rain on Sunday so the opportunity to force a few turnovers will be there.
Jordan Love Needs a Bounce Back Game
This is a game Jordan Love needs to have a bounce back game. All in all, he needs to play better. I give the Green Bay Packers quarterback a pass a few weeks ago against the Vikings because he missed the previous two games. Last week, Love threw one of the worst interceptions you will see an NFL quarterback throw. I don’t think he does that ever again.
I want to see Love hit the check-downs when necessary. It appears at times he is forcing the deep ball and trying to get all the yards at once. When he was most successful last year, he took the check-downs and took the deep shots when they were there. There is no doubting his talent, but I want to see him take what the Cardinals defense is giving him and be aggressive when it’s there.
