There were some doubts whether the Green Packers made the right investment in the former Alabama Crimson Tide star tailback, but he erased those doubts with an excellent first year in Green Bay threads, as he rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 carries while playing in all 17 games in the regular season.
It was a bounce-back campaign for Jacobs, who, before joining the Packers, burned rubber for only 805 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 233 carries across 13 games in 2023 with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Josh Jacobs believes the Green Bay Packers gave the Eagles toughest test

The first and last games of Jacobs and the Packers in the 2024 campaign were both against the eventual Super Bowl 59 champions Philadelphia Eagles.
In Week 1, Green Bay fell prey to Jalen Hurts and company in a neutral-site game in Brazil via a score of 34-29. That game can also be remembered for Jordan Love‘s injury late in the contest and for Jacobs’ Green Bay debut. In that game, Jacobs rushed for 81 yards on an efficient 5.3 yards per carry.
The two teams would meet again in the playoffs, but the Packers faltered anew opposite Philly, which won the NFC wild-card matchup at Lincoln Financial Field, 22-10. Despite Green Bay’s loss, Jacobs was a bright spot for the Packers, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries while also recording 40 receiving yards on three catches and three targets.
During a recent appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, Jacobs said that the Packers gave Philly its biggest headache in the 2024 campaign.
“I think we gon’ be straight. I tell people all the time. We played the Eagles better than any other team that I seen,” Jacobs said (h/t Matt Schneidman of The Athletic).
However, many simply did not buy Jacobs’ claim, with a number of fans making a case for the Los Angeles Rams.
“I’d argue the Rams played the Eagles better, but the Packers are gonna be alright.,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “He must not have watched the Rams-Eagles game the week afterwards.”
From a commenter: “guessing he didn’t watch the Rams game huh”
“Rams played the Eagles down the wire,” another social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Ummmm did he not see the rams lol”
