The Green Bay Packers lost their first game of the 2024 NFL regular season to the Philadelphia Eagles 34-29 on Friday night in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The biggest story of the game, though, was the health of quarterback Jordan Love, who went down with a knee injury with a few seconds left in the fourth quarter. Initially, the fear was that the injury could have ended his season.
Fortunately, tests revealed that Love avoided any damage to his ACL. Instead, he suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks. The hope, of course, is that he will be back sometime around Week Four.
In any case, the good news is that he will definitely be back this season. What the Packers’ record will look like when he returns is yet to be seen.
The Green Bay Packers’ Top 5 Players on Offense According to PFF
Putting up 29 points in the NFL is a good indicator that the offense performed relatively well. The fact that both teams put up 29+ points on such a slippery and low-quality field is also a testament to how good they were.
Perhaps surprisingly, three of the Packers’ top five players on offense were offensive linemen, per PFF.
- Zach Tom: 92.0
- Jayden Reed: 89.2
- Elgton Jenkins: 78.4
- Emanuel Wilson 69.8
- Jordan Morgan: 67.7
As one can see, Tom, Jenkins, and Morgan all played well and graded highly. Tom and Jenkins each played all 67 offensive snaps and did not allow a single pressure. Morgan, the Packers’ first round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, played 28 snaps and allowed just one pressure.
Reed perhaps was the most exciting player on Green Bay’s offense, catching four passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. He also added one carry for 33 yards and another touchdown.
Wilson, who served as the backup running back with Marshawn Lloyd out, had four carries for 46 yards. He also had two receptions for two yards.
Other Notable PFF Grades for the Green Bay Packers Offense
Other key contributors for the Packers with pretty good PFF grades were as follows:
- Jordan Love: 64.6 PFF Grade- 17/34 for 260 yards, two touchdowns, one interception
- Josh Jacobs: 64.4 PFF Grade- 16 carries for 84 yards; two receptions for 20 yards
- Romeo Doubs: 63.8 PFF Grade- four receptions for 50 yards
The bottom-five graded players on Green Bay’s offense were:
- Malik Willis (two snaps): 42.5
- Luke Musgrave: 43.8
- Dontayvion Wicks: 44.0
- Josh Myers: 50.1
- Tucker Kraft: 55.1
