While the Green Bay Packers are set at least four starting offensive line spots for 2025. Rasheed Walker, Elgton Jenkins, Sean Rhyan and of course Zach Tom. Josh Myers is a free agent and likely to move on. Now what do the Packers do at center? and what will they do in the future?
What Will The Offensive Line Look Like?
Do they move Jenkins to center? He has played there before (in college and the NFL). Sean Rhyan has gotten The Green Bay Packers are facing decisions about the configuration of their offensive line moving forward. Options include moving Jenkins to center, considering Rhyan for the position, giving the job to Monk, drafting a center, or signing a free agent. With multiple possibilities available, the team must carefully weigh their choices for the best outcome. practice snaps at center, do they move him there? Zach Tom of course played center his redshirt freshman season at Wake Forest and a lot of scouts thought his best spot may be center.
Do they just give the job to Jacob Monk? Do they draft a center high and give him the job? Do they sign a free agent? There are a lot of options going forward.

Another thing to consider is swing tackle Andre Dillard is also a free agent and unlikely to be back. This leaves Green Bay with the previous mentioned four (Walker, Jenkins, Rhyan and Tom) plus last years first round pick Jordan Morgan, Jacob Monk, Travis Glover, Donovan Jennings, Trey Hill, Marquis Hayes and Kadeem Telfort. This only leaves the Packers with just four players who have even started a game in the NFL and just three others that have even played a snap.
The Packers will definitely needs to get some depth out of the draft. They may not have a swing tackle depending on what happens with Morgan and while there are bodies, they still lack depth on the inside. Now lets get to what I think they will do versus what I would do.
What I Think Gutey Will Do?
I think Gutey will keep everyone where they are at and draft a center to compete with Monk to be the starter. My reasoning is Jenkins is getting older and he just didn’t look very good at center last year and he has always looked his best at left guard. Sean Rhyan will probably compete with Morgan at right guard again. Walker and Tom will hold down the tackle spots and they will draft at least one tackle and maybe another interior offensive lineman depending on if the center they draft can also play guard.

What I Would Do?
I would move Tom to center, keep Jenkins, Walker, and Rhyan at their spots. I would also draft a tackle on day two and let them compete with Morgan at right tackle. Loser becomes the 6th offensive lineman. I would also of course draft some interior depth and maybe another tackle.
How Will The Offensive Line Look In 2026?
Now going off the previous question is. What do the Packers do with their offensive line in 2026? They have some big decisions to make. Zach Tom and Rasheed Walker are both unrestricted free agents. Sean Rhyan is a restricted free agent. Elgton Jenkins will also be 31 with a cap hit of 24.8 million dollars. Now they are projected as of now to have around 73 million dollars of cap space, of course with how the cap is going up each year they will probably have more. Lets just say 75 for a nice and easy round number. Zach Tom is an obvious resign.
There are articles out there saying he will get over 20 million a year, that seems a bit much in my opinion, unless he moves to center and just kills it. If he stays at tackle he’s just not top three tackle in the league good. I could easily see the Packers approaching him this summer with an extension offer in the 15-18 million range. Rhyan being restricted makes him an easy keep for at least one more year.
The bigger question is what will they do with Rasheed Walker? he’s was a pretty solid left tackle this past season, but was he top 10? not really. He is more like a top 12-15 left tackle in the NFL, but with the dearth of good tackles in the NFL he will probably get offered top 10 maybe even top eight money if he makes it to free agency. What will Gutekunst do?
I think the biggest thing for him will be does Walker show more improvement in 2025? if he improved even more, and shows some more consistency I wouldn’t be surprised if he resigned both Walker and Tom. But, if Walker has plateaued….that might be an excuse for them to let him walk and throw a either a 2025 or 2026 draft pick to left tackle. I think long term Morgan is the heir apparent at left guard.

With all this being said there are a lot of different ways this could go, but how Brian Gutekunst approaching the offensive line this offseason will tell us a lot about what their plans are for the future long term. It will be interesting to see what they do.
