The Green Bay Packers are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil for the NFL’s first ever regular season game in South America. The Week One contest will take place on Friday night on Peacock at 7:15PM CST.
After a long offseason, the Packers were finally able to trim their roster to 53 players last week, a group that includes former Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis and kicker Brayden Narveson. It also included many of the rookies that Green Bay selected in the 20224 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, some of those rookies showed up on the Packers’ first injury report of the year.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Headlines Injury Report
Per the Packers website, the following players were limited or did not practice due to a variety of injuries:
- Romeo Doubs- Hand
- Edgerrin Cooper- Hip
- Emanuel Wilson Hip
- Marshawn Lloyd- Hamstring
- Carrington Valentine- Hamstring
The only player that did not practice was Lloyd, the rookie running back whom Green Bay selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Lloyd missed a great deal of time during training camp and preseason due to two different injuries. He missed some time with a hip injury and then hurt his hamstring during the Packers’ first preseason game.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Addressed Marshawn Lloyd’s Recovery on Sunday
Despite not practicing today, Lloyd did not have a setback in his recovery from his hamstring injury. He practiced on Sunday in a limited role, and head coach Matt LaFleur made it known that Tuesday was a planned day of rest for the rookie running back.
On Sunday, LaFleur was asked about how much Lloyd might see the field at first, and if he had any concerns about how much time the rookie has missed.
#Packers HC Matt LaFleur on how MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) is looking:
“We’ll see. We’ll give him the week to watch him as he progresses. Certainly, we’re gonna be smart with him, and he was limited today, but he’s doing more and more, and we’ll see where he’s at.” pic.twitter.com/1fIFXath63

“We’ll see. We’ll give him the week to watch him as he progresses. Certainly, we’re gonna be smart with him, and he was limited today, but he’s doing more and more, and we’ll see where he’s at,” LaFleur said.
Obviously, LaFleur did not reveal anything in regard to how much Lloyd might play or if Wilson, who also showed up on the injury report, might start the season as the second-string running back behind Josh Jacobs.
As of right now, none of the injured Packers players seem to be in danger of missing the Week One game.
