The Green Bay Packers fell to the Minnesota Vikings 31-29 on Sunday afternoon. Green Bay got off to a slow start offensively while the defense struggled in the first half, allowing Minnesota to put up four touchdowns. Jordan Love, playing in his first game since spraining his MCL in Week One, threw a career-high three interceptions and kicker Brayden Narveson missed both of his field goal attempts.
It was not all bad, though. The Packers outscored the Vikings 22-3 in the second half as Love started to find his groove. A confusing interception in the fourth quarter added to the frustration of the day, but the Packers’ quarterback also threw four touchdown passes in the game, as well as 389 yards.
Green Bay Packers Legend Brett Favre Posts Encouraging Message to Jordan Love
Love’s performance, with his multiple interceptions to go with a high number of passing yards and four touchdown passes, reminded many fans of Brett Favre. The Packers icon still holds the NFL record for most career interceptions, but also threw 508 touchdowns passes, the fourth-most all-time.
Prior to the game, Love wore a Favre jersey on his way into Lambeau, a sign of support for the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback who recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
After the game, a contest in which Love nearly brought the Packers back from a 28-0 deficit, Favre posted the following message on X (formerly Twitter):
Dear Jordan:
Just a reminder that one game, one play, or one pass doesn’t define you. Way to show resilience today. You have a long career ahead. Just keep going forward.

Love played far from his best game, but it is worth noting that wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks dropped multiple passes that might have changed the outcome of the game. He too ended the day with an impressive line, catching five passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
It is important to remember that it is only Week Four and the Packers are finally getting their starting quarterback out on the field. While losing to the Vikings at home early in the season is unfortunate, it is by no means an indication that they will struggle all year.
Last season, Love led the Packers to a 7-3 record in their final 10 games after they started the year 2-5. It is important for fans to realize that there is still a great deal of season left.
