The Green Bay Packers’ offensive line is going to look much different this season, given the likelihood that David Bakhtiari will be playing elsewhere this fall.

While Rasheed Walker played well in 2023, allowing six sacks in his second season since being chosen in the seventh-round of the 2022 NFL Draft, out of Penn State, the Packers invested significant resources at left tackle this offseason.

After selecting Jordan Morgan in the first round of April’s draft, the former University of Arizona standout has the inside track to locking down the Packers’ left tackle job to keep quarterback Jordan Love upright.

According to a report from NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Packers and Morgan officially agreed to terms on the first-round pick’s rookie contract on June 13.

Morgan is set to collect $14.185 million over the life of his rookie deal, including $71.35 million guaranteed.

Green Bay chose Morgan No. 25 overall pick in this year’s draft, in a move the organization hopes provides long-term stability at offensive tackle, and could signal Bakhtiari landing elsewhere as a free agent.

“Versatile offensive lineman like we like,” Gutekunst told reporters following the NFL Draft. “[He’s] really athletic. We feel he can play four positions for us. Two-time team captain. Our kind of guy.”

Last season at Arizona, Morgan only allowed two sacks while logging an elite 83.4 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Morgan could play a vital role for the Packers in 2024, and ensure the franchise’s Super Bowl window is propped open for coming seasons with Love at the healm, healthy and upright.
