The wait is finally over for the Green Bay Packers and their fans. Three weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in the Packers’ Week One loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on the terrible field down in Sao Paolo, Brazil, star quarterback Jordan Love will be making his return.
Ian Rapoport posted the following on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this afternoon:
He’s back: #Packers QB Jordan Love is expected to return to the lineup against the #Vikings, three weeks after spraining his MCL. pic.twitter.com/RCKq8u9IVS

It is worth noting that Rapoport says “returning to the lineup,” and not starting. While it is presumed that Love will start against the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers using backup Malik Willis for a few plays or series cannot be ruled out.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Malik Willis Thrived with Jordan Love Out
When Love first went down in the closing seconds of Green Bay’s Week One loss, many believed his season was over. To many, it looked like he may have torn his ACL. Fortunately, that ligament escaped any damage.
Love was diagnosed with a Grade 1-2 MCL sprain, but was not put on injured reserve. His return to the lineup on Sunday indicates that the Packers were right in their estimate that he would be able to return after two or three games.
While he was out, backup quarterback Malik Willis, who was acquired via trade from the Tennessee Titans shortly before the regular season began, led the Packers to a 2-0 record in games against the Indianapolis Colts and Titans.
As good as Willis was, though, having Love is most definitely preferred for the Packers, who signed him to a four-year $220 million contract extension during the early days of training camp.
Last season, Love completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns (second in the NFL), 11 interceptions, and a 96.1 passer rating.
In his only game of the season so far, Love completed 17 of 34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and had a passer rating of 83.0.
