The Green Bay Packers will face off against the Los Angeles Rams later this afternoon for their Week Five matchup. At 2-2, the Packers are looking to keep pace with the rest of the NFC North as the Minnesota Vikings improved to 5-0 by defeating Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in London. In order to do so, the Packers must defeat the Rams in Los Angeles for the first time since 1966.
The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams Are Both Missing Wide Receivers
Unfortunately, both teams are going to be without their two starting wide receivers. The Rams are missing Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp while the Packers have listed both Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs as out.
Watson suffered a high ankle sprain in Green Bay’s Week Four loss to the Vikings but is not going to need an IR stint. Doubs was suspended by the team after he skipped practice on Thursday and Friday. He is reportedly unhappy with his role on the offense.
Early Sunday afternoon, the Packers got more bad news.
Jaire Alexander Will Miss His Second Consecutive Game for the Green Bay Packers
In addition to their two top wide receivers, Green Bay’s star cornerback, Jaire Alexander, will miss his second straight game as he battles quad and groin injuries:
CB Jaire Alexander will be OUT once again dealing with quad/groin injuries. Looked good in warmups but hopes to be back next game. #Packers @NFLonCBS

Alexander had been listed as questionable all week and was a limited participant in practice. Unfortunately, it does not seem like it is in his best interest to play.
This is definitely a big blow to the Packers defense as Alexander was enjoying a fast start to the season after a down year in 2023. He had his first career interception return for a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week Two.
Already with two interceptions this season, Alexander was (and still is) on pace for a career year under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
Hopefully he will be able to come back in Week Six.
