The Green Bay Packers have a much different running back room in 2024 than they did in the previous three NFL seasons. Aaron Jones, the third-leading rusher in franchise history, was released following the free agent signing of Josh Jacobs. AJ Dillon, who was Jones’ backup for three seasons, was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a neck injury when the 53-man roster was announced earlier this year.
In addition to Jacobs, the Packers have relied on Emanuel Wilson, a former undrafted free agent who made the roster as the third running back last year. They also drafted Marshawn Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he is currently on injured reserve. Instead, Chris Brooks has served as the third running back for the last few weeks.
Green Bay Packers Running Back AJ Dillon Attended the Donald Trump Rally
Dillon, despite his injury, has still been around the team a great deal this year. After all, he made his year-round home in Door County, Wisconsin and re-signed with Green Bay in order to stay in the state that he loves.
On Wednesday night, he went viral on social media for attending the rally for former United States President Donald Trump in Green Bay:

Of course, it has been known for about a week that former Packers quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre, who is currently embroiled in a lawsuit that alleges he stole millions of dollars from Mississippi’s welfare fund, was speaking at the rally.
While there are many Packers fans who are also Trump supporters in attendance at the rally, others who support Vice President Kamala Harris were not thrilled to see that Dillon was in attendance:

Of course, Dillon has every right to support whoever he wants to politically. So too, fans have a right to voice their thoughts.
If the veteran running back does end up back in Green Bay next year, it appears he will have several Packers fans that will not hold him in as high of esteem as before.
