The Cleveland Browns first day of training camp occurred on Wednesday. Cleveland’s biggest deal in training camp will be who will be the starting quarterback come Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rookie Shedeur Sanders has yet to receive first team reps with the Browns during the offseason. Did that change when training camp came on Wednesday or is it still the same status quo?
Cleveland Browns Insider Provides Alarming Update For Shedeur Sanders On Thursday Morning When It Comes To First Team Reps

Tony Rizzo went onto ESPN Cleveland radio on Thursday morning to talk about who received most of the first team reps at the quarterback position during day one of NFL training camp. Rizzo said about the first day of training camp,
“It looks like Pickett and Gabriel got the most reps.”
With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel getting most of the first team reps on Monday, does this mean that Pickett and Gabriel will be one and two in the pecking order on the depth chart when Week 1 comes? This is what head coach Kenny Stefanski is leaning towards potentially right now. It could mean that Sanders and Joe Flacco will be competing for the final quarterback spot on the Browns roster.
If Sanders does not get any first team reps in training camp, does it mean that Cleveland is going to release him before the beginning of the 2025 NFL season? It remains to be seen how often Gabriel and Pickett will get first team reps in practice. This also means that the Browns may not have much faith in Sanders as the starting quarterback. It will be interesting to see how the next couple of weeks go in this quarterback competition.
