Before the 2025 college football season began, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning was one of the most hyped-up prospects in all of college football. They were projecting him to be the number one pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but it turned out not to be the case.

Texas finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. They missed the college football playoffs and his inconsistent play cost them a shot to get them back to the playoffs. Yahoo Sports reported on Monday evening, “BREAKING: QB Arch Manning is returning to Texas for the 2026 season, his father Cooper told ESPN. Manning led the Longhorns to a 9-3 record and 13th-ranked finish.” Manning completed the season with only completing 61.4% of his passes for 2,942 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 244 yards on 83 carries and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 2.9 yards per carry.
College Football Fans React To Texas Longhorns QB Arch Manning Returning Next Season

There are a lot of college football fans who are intrigued about the return of Manning to Texas for next season. This is what some fans had to say about it on Twitter:
He’s going to have a huge year next season. A full year of starting experience under his belt, he has looked better as the season went on. Respect for coming back

isn’t it great that college athletes don’t have to one and done and rush out of school and miss years of great development before heading to the pros now

I am excited to see his development for next year, a year as a starter under his belt and we could see him live up to all the hype he was getting this year

This is the right move. Come back next year, improve the fundamentals, develop more as a player and person, and be the Heisman caliber player you were touted to be.

Interesting. They i.e, Peyton, Eli, Arch Sr., feel his draft possibilities are better next year.

It will be better for his development that Manning gets a second year in college anyways. Texas will be in contention for a playoff spot next year. If the Longhorns don’t make it back next season, its because he didn’t make any improvements in the offseason.
