Breaking: Giants Add Super Bowl Champion And Former Head Coach To Offense (Report)

The New York Giants are officially in a new era with John Harbaugh as their head coach.  Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers will be their “big three” and hope to prove to the rest of the NFL that they are here to stay.

Now, they have another coach leading them who has experience winning the biggest game of the year.

The New York Giants have added another former NFL head coach to their staff under new head coach John Harbaugh, hiring Brian Callahan as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

Callahan, who served as head coach of the Tennessee Titans for parts of 2024-2025 (fired October 13, 2025, after a 23-game stint), interviewed with the Giants on Tuesday and agreed to the role. This fills a key vacancy on Harbaugh’s inaugural coaching staff in East Rutherford, focusing on development of young QB Jaxson Dart (the Giants’ signal-caller in 2025 after rookie flashes) and the passing attack.

Why This Hire Matters for the Giants

  • Callahan brings recent head-coaching experience, offensive expertise (from his time with the Titans and prior as OC), and familiarity with modern schemes.
  • His role emphasizes QB coaching and passing game coordination, aligning with the Giants’ need to improve offensive production after a challenging 2025 season.
  • This follows the earlier hiring of Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator (announced in February), adding another Andy Reid disciple to the mix.

The move underscores Harbaugh’s approach to building a veteran-heavy, experienced staff with proven leadership credentials.

The Giants’ coaching staff continues to take shape rapidly under Harbaugh, with focus shifting toward free agency (league year begins March 11) and the 2026 draft. Callahan’s addition is seen as a positive for Dart’s growth and overall offensive stability.

This roundup reflects the latest league-wide buzz as the offseason ramps up. Stay tuned for more updates on coaching hires, extensions, and roster moves across the NFL.
