The New York Giants rookies reported to East Rutherford, New Jersey on Tuesday as they officially start training camp. Despite the first day being mostly “classroom instruction”, it wont stop the fans from getting excited. The rest of the roster will report on Tuesday, July 26.
In addition, the Giants will open 11 practices to the fans. This is the first time since 2019 that they will allow fans in to watch practices.
Thoughts From The Fans

I think that the fans have a sense of cautious optimism and limited expectations for this team. The Giants have questions at every position and its going to be eyes on the rookies and returning veterans. Quarterback, Daniel Jones, is at the top of the list of players to watch, but he is joined by offensive weapons Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay and the offensive line. However, the rookies and second year pros are also going to be pressed to make an impact.
Big Blue do have promising young pieces around the field. Starting with Kadarius Toney, Wan’Dale Robinson at the receiver position. In addition, on the defensive side they have Xavier McKinney, Julian Love, Azeez Ojulari and Kayvon Thibodeaux. However, all of those players are in a prove it year as the front office will evaluate all of the talent to see who they can build with or who they need to move on from.
Stressful Time For Joe Schoen

I think its obvious that the first year for any General Manager at a new team is going to be filled with stress. That is no different from Joe Schoen, who comes over from the Buffalo Bills, along with head coach Brian Daboll. Schoen selected a new staff alongside Daboll, before running his first NFL Draft and tackling free-agency with a lot of salary cap issues.
This is all just the start of year one of what the Giants hope to be a long and fruitful relationship. Schoen will now keep an eye on the 90 players in camp, but also the 90 players on each team around the league to see if he picks up any of the players cut from other rosters.
