Giants: ESPN Bet In Hot Water After Point Shaving Accusation (Report)

The New York Giants got the they desperately needed on Sunday.  New York went on the road to take on the Cleveland Browns in week three and came away with a 21-15 victory.

New York’s key contributors played a huge role in the win.  Daniel Jones threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns.  Malik Nabers had two touchdown receptions and 78 yards.  Devin Singletary had 65 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

However, one ESPN account accused the Giants of point shaving following the win, something that did not sit well with fans.

According to Darrelle Lincoln of Total Pro Sports:

New York Giants running back Devin Singletary had the chance to cap a long run with a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but instead, he produced an all-time bad beat.

He pulled off a selfless move at the last second as he went down at the 1-yard-line instead of scoring.

Everybody knew why he did it, but an ESPN Bet TikTok account took things way too far with how they described it.

While the touchdown would have made it a two-score deficit for the Browns, who had zero timeouts, it would have left Cleveland enough time to possibly stage a miracle comeback.

Fans were not pleased with the accusation from ESPN Bet:

Numerous fans called for the running back to sue ESPN over the allegation.  It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this developing story.
