On Saturday, the Georgia football program took a massive step forward regarding their College Football Playoff hopes. Sitting just outside the current rendition of the 12-team CFP field, the Georgia Bulldogs hosted the top-ranked Tennessee Volunteers in a clash of two SEC giants. Likely needing to win out to secure a CFP berth, Georgia came out the gate slow, with Tennessee leading 10-0 after the first quarter. However, the Bulldogs outscored the Volunteers 31-7 the rest of the way, securing their eighth win and fourth against a currently ranked team.
With the win, Georgia football kept their CFP hopes alive and still holds a chance to play for their third straight SEC title game. With their toughest remaining regular-season tilt resulting in a victory, Georgia fans did not shy away from trashing their weekend opponent via social media.

According to ESPN on X:

GEORGIA’S EIGHTH STRAIGHT WIN VS. TENNESSEE
With Georgia football’s season hanging in the balance this weekend, the Bulldogs answered the bell with a 31-17 victory over the 7th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Following 12 interceptions in his last six games, quarterback Carson Beck shined, going 25-of-40 for 346 yards and two touchdowns. He also added three rushes for 32 yards and a touchdown while the Bulldogs went a super-efficient 8-of-13 on third downs. Georgia finished with an astonishing 450-plus yards of offense.
Meanwhile, Georgia sacked opposing quarterback Nico Iamaleava four times in the win while forcing a game-sealing sack of the passer on the final defensive play of the game. With the win, Georgia will likely move into the top ten of the following College Football Playoff rankings, leapfrogging Tennessee. Conversely, a 10-2 finish to the regular season could banish the Vols from the CFP. They finish the season with a home contest against UTEP and a road matchup versus Vandy. Nevertheless, Georgia fans did not hesitate to bash the fanbase of their SEC foe:
