The Georgia football program enters the 2024 season, eying its third College Football Playoff Championship in four seasons. They got off to an excellent start on Saturday, dismantling the Clemson Tigers 34-3. Georgia’s defense shined, allowing just 188 yards of offense while holding Clemson to just 4-of-13 on third-down conversions.
Former All-Pro wide receiver Roddy White, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, weighed in on the matchup, declaring the Tigers’ overwhelming amount of “white dudes” on offense played into a stellar performance from Georgia football’s defense.
Former All-Pro WR Critiques Clemson Tigers Offense For Struggles against Georgia Football
According to former four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White:
Clemson got way to many white dudes on the field on offense this ain’t them. U mean to tell me u only got one black dude out there making plays that’s a recruiting problem.
White claims that the Tigers suffered to rip off explosive plays against a stout Georgia football defense because of an excessive amount of “white dudes.” However, outside of tight end Jake Briningstool, Clemson did not have another white player eclipse double-digit scrimmage yards. Instead, quarterback Cade Klubnik struggled against a strong Georgia defense, throwing for just 142 yards and a pick. Georgia also sacked him twice while forcing seven punts. Star linebacker Jalon Walker finished the contest with six tackles and 1.5 sacks.
White failed to give Georgia football their fair share of credit for routinely making life difficult for the Tigers offense. Meanwhile, the Georgia Bulldogs house Cash Jones and London Humphreys, two white players who combined for three touches for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia fans, and college football devotees in general, were disappointed in White’s potential “race bait”:
