Georgia football has played the most demanding schedule this season. Despite that, they have an 8-2 record, own wins against top-ranked Texas, Clemson, and Tennessee, and are eyeing their third College Football Playoff in four seasons. On Tuesday, the College Football Playoff committee placed Georgia seventh in their latest rankings, the second-best mark by an SEC team. They are also the top two-loss team, with conference rivals Alabama and Ole Miss slipping just outside the top 12.
With Georgia football playing out of conference foe Georgia Tech this Saturday, the 8-2 team will play in the SEC title against the winner of Texas and Texas A&M. If Georgia wins on Saturday and falls in a close tilt in the conference title, they will likely still make the CFP. Still, one former NFL star is astonished by the team’s placement in the latest rendition of the CFP rankings, believing neither Miami nor Penn State have competing resumes.
Roddy White Calls Out College Football Playoff Rankings

According to longtime Atlanta Falcons standout wideout Roddy White on Twitter:
Georgia should not be ranked outside the top 5 in this CFP; this is ridiculous. Miami ranked ahead of them.
Roddy White is unpleased with the latest CFP rankings. A four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with the Atlanta Falcons from 2005 to 2015, White took exception to Georgia football climbing three spots in Tuesday’s CFP standings following their 59-21 beatdown of UMass. More notably, White pointed at Penn State and Miami being ranked ahead of Georgia as a mistake by the committee.
Penn State and Miami are each 9-1 this season. However, Penn State’s lone loss came at home against the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, while Miami fell to unranked Georgia Tech on the road in early November. Meanwhile, Georgia’s losses have come against 13th-ranked Alabama and 14th-ranked Ole Miss on the road. Conversely, Georgia has key wins against Tennessee and Texas, while only Penn State has a win against a currently ranked team (Illinois at home). If the season ended today, Penn State would play Indiana, Miami would earn a bye, and Georgia would host SEC power Tennessee.
