The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2023 recruiting class just scored big. The recent signing of linebacker, Troy Bowles, is a huge get for the reigning national champions. Bowles, the son of longtime NFL coach, Todd Bowles, is the number 26 prospect in the ESPN 300 and the number two linebacker in his class.
The addition of Bowles gives Georgia the number six recruiting class according to www.247.com.
Other Notable 2023 Bulldog Recruits
Along with Bowles, the 2023 Georgia recruiting class has been bolstered by the likes of cornerback A.J. Harris, tight end, Pearce Spurlin and linebacker, Raylen Wilson. Snagging Harris out of the state of Alabama was a big score. Kirby Smart had to treasure beating his old boss, Saban, to the punch.
Spurlin is also another huge recruit, literally. At 6’6″, the Florida recruit will be a big target for whoever quarterbacks the Dawgs in the future. Add to that the four-star Wilson at linebacker and a whole slew of four and five-star talent on both sides of the ball and you can see why Georgia has set itself up nicely for years to come.
Don’t Forget About The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2022 Class
As of now, Georgia’s 2022 recruiting class is even more impressive than the 2023 class. Five and four-star recruits dominate this class. The list includes top-rated performers such as defensive lineman, Mykel Williams, athlete, Malaki Starks and edge rusher, Marvin Jones Jr.
This third-ranked class will go a long way in replacing the players from last season’s national championship team.
Who’s Playing Quarterback For The Georgia Bulldogs?
Ultimately, though, who fills the quarterback position will be the most important question surrounding the Georgia football program.
Projected starter, Stetson Bennett, will be done after this season. Currently, Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff stand as the two back-ups, followed by incoming freshman, Gunner Stockton. Of the three, Vandagriff is the highest-rated recruit, however, time will tell who can lead Kirby Smart’s team to more success on the football field.
For now, Bennett will continue his fairytale story and try to lead the Dawgs to back-to-back national championships. It’ll be fun watching how it all plays out.
