Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens is still trying to get used to his new football environment after he was traded to the NFC East franchise by the Pittsburgh Steelers last May.
He seems to be getting more comfortable with Dallas, though, which is great news for the Cowboys and their fans, as they all have big expectations for him right away in the 2025 NFL season.
With Dak Prescott expected to be ready to play in 2025 and a 1-2 tandem downfield of Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys are projected to have a robust passing attack again.
Fans react to George Pickens’ number with the Cowboys

ESPN shared a post on social media that shows Pickens wearing the No. 3 jersey during practice. The former Georgia Bulldogs star wideout started the Cowboys training camp sporting the No. 13, but he’s apparently taken over the No. 3 – the number previously carried by veteran defensive end Dante Fowler Jr.

Fans have all sorts of jokes about this number switch by Pickens.
“3rd string”
“Cause he WR3”
“it’s better than 13”
“Change your jersey # all you want it ain’t bringing no playoff to Dallas lmfao 🤣”
“His number of NFL teams by end of season”
“3 for 3 touchdowns for the year lol”
“That number is higher than Dak’s playoff wins”“Because he is only one number above a deuce.”
Fowler also revealed that he did not ask for anything for him to cough up the No. 3 for Pickens.
Via Clarkence Hill Jr of All City DLLS:”Talked to Fowler and Pickens. Fowler said he gave up the No. 3 so Pickens could have it. He volunteered. Pickens said the Cowboys told him 3 was available. He didn”t ask for it. He didn’t pay for it..”
