George Kittle is setting the record straight after rumors surfaced online claiming he invested $5 million into Dogtopia, a dog daycare franchise. The 49ers tight end shut down the viral chatter with a quick and firm response on X.
“Unfortunately I’m not sure where this rumor started and it is not true. I do however do a ton of work with @Opfreedompaws in California that rescues dogs and trains them to be service dogs for veterans and people who need help. Dogs need help! Continue to give love!” — George Kittle on X

The rumor started gaining steam after someone on Reddit claimed they saw George Kittle meeting with Dogtopia execs. The post was eventually deleted, but by then, it had already spread to fan pages and sports blogs like wildfire.
Turns out, there’s no truth to it. Instead of dropping millions on a fancy dog daycare, Kittle has been spending his time and energy on something much closer to home—supporting Operation Freedom Paws. It’s a nonprofit that matches rescue dogs with veterans and people with disabilities, helping both find purpose and healing. Kittle has shown up for their events and backed their cause in more ways than one.

Kittle didn’t lash out—he simply reminded everyone of the work he actually puts his time and heart into.
And to be fair, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound All-Pro showing up at a doggy daycare would’ve made headlines either way.
George Kittle Focused on Longevity and Legacy as Career Milestones Pile Up
George Kittle isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and his mindset proves that leaving legendary greatness is still a reachable target.
As he enters another season with the San Francisco 49ers, Kittle opened up about what it’ll take to reach Hall of Fame status.
“Oh, my goodness. If I just continue to stay healthy and play at a high level, all I ever do is try to compete with myself as best I possibly can and always challenge myself,” he said in a recent interview. “You know, my old tight ends coach always gave me a note card at the beginning of every season and he said, ‘Your goal is to have 1000 yards, 10 touchdowns and a ton of pancakes.’”

That simple message stuck with Kittle—because it reflects the type of player he is. Not just a pass-catcher, but a full-package tight end who blocks, leads, and hustles.
The Hall of Fame might still be years away, but Kittle’s already built a career that many young players want to copy. His work ethic? It speaks louder than any rumor.
